THE EVENT

You’re invited to attend Dave Chappelle’s Juke Joint, featuring Frédéric Yonnet & The Band with No Name. The event is held in a barn on a working farm in Dave’s hometown, the Village of Yellow Springs, Ohio. Join in as Chappelle serves as the instigator and ultimate hype-man in a Band-vs-DJ sound clash that blurs all musical lines.

ABOUT JUKE JOINT
Dave Chappelle is best known for his stand-up act; however, his appreciation of good music is hardly a secret.  In 2015, he hosted his original Juke Joint in a barn on a farm in his hometown of Yellow Springs, Ohio. Inspired by music born in the juke joints of America’s Deep South, Chappelle’s modern-day Juke Joint takes you on a trip through his personal playlist that includes tunes ranging from Coltrane to Nirvana.
Band members are all musical virtuosos who have toured with legends like Stevie Wonder and Prince. Their instrumental interpretations which include a mix of jazz, rock, R&B, layered with hip-hop, are so electrifying, it’s like capturing lightning in a bottle.
This year, we’ll include a special tribute to Prince on the anniversary of his passing.

THE CULTURE

We’re making shared memories. “NO CAMERAS OR CELL PHONES” inside the barn or barnyard.  With confirmation, you agree to maintain your phone in a locked pouch we provide. Unlocking stations available at the entrance.

Dancing shoes only! No heeled shoes over two inches; hence, no excuses, for aching feet. Plus, heels are hazardous with the imperfections of the barn floor.

Adults Only. You must be 21 years and over to attend.

Weapons-Free Space. No firearms, regardless of license or permit.

Known for its laid-back vibe and community atmosphere, Yellow Springs is more than just a “hippie enclave”.  It’s an eclectic and vibrant community of creative types, which boasts Dave Chappelle among its most-noted residents.
It’s no surprise Chappelle would settle in such a rural town. Yellow Springs is a respite from the hurried pace of New York and a shield from the bright lights of Tinsel Town.
